Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of ScholarBridge, operated by ScholarBridge.
1. Who you are contracting with
ScholarBridge is provided by ScholarBridge (--“we--”, --“us--”). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the service, you enter into this agreement with us. You confirm that you are at least the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction and, if you are acting on behalf of an organisation, that you have authority to bind it.
2. Acceptance
By continuing to use the service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Academic Integrity Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. The service
ScholarBridge is a learning and research decision-support platform for individual students, researchers and lecturers. It generates study material, provides Socratic questioning, simulates panel feedback, and surfaces readiness signals. It is not a supervisor, examiner or institution, and it does not approve, grade or guarantee academic outcomes.
4. Payment, subscriptions and billing
Our online reseller Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle handles payment, billing, tax and customer-service enquiries relating to payments and returns. Payment mechanics, renewals and taxes are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. Prices are shown on the Pricing page and may change; changes only affect future renewals.
5. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
6. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular you may not: (a) use it unlawfully; (b) commit fraud, send spam or infringe intellectual property; (c) probe, scan, scrape, disrupt or attempt to break the security of the service; (d) upload malware or attempt to jailbreak the AI; (e) fabricate data, references or results, or use outputs to impersonate your own understanding for assessment. See the full Acceptable Use Policy and Academic Integrity Policy.
7. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the service, our software, documentation and branding. You retain rights in the content you upload; you grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you input and for how you use AI outputs.
8. Service level and warranties
We work hard to keep the service available and useful, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (including loss of profits, data or goodwill). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (e.g. fraud, death or personal injury).
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. On termination, you may export your data during a reasonable window before deletion, in line with the Data Retention Policy.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and we may ask you to re-accept the updated version.
